         <description><![CDATA[The Holy Cross men's golf program has named seniors Pat Brown and Brian Flood as 2008-09 team captains. Brown had an 81.6 average in 16 rounds to rank fifth on the team in the 2007-08 season. At the 2008 Yale Spring Open he led the Crusaders with a 57th place finish and a two-round score of 152, while he placed 34th at the Patriot League Championship. As a freshman, Brown tied for first in a dual meet with Providence with a 75. He is also a two-time member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll. Flood placed 66th at the 2007 Colgate Invitational, while he finished in 48th place at the 2006 Army Mulekicker Classic with a two-round score of 161.]]></description>

In 41 starts in the infield, Gorman finished the 2008 season ranked first on the team in home runs (five) and in triples (three), second in doubles (14), second in assists (124), and sixth on the team in batting average (.270). Last season, he saw action in 24 games and made 23 starts.]]></description>

The women's varsity eight boat competed in the petite final, finishing second with a time of 7:06.593. The U.S. Coast Guard earned a first-place finish with a time of 7:05.371. The second varsity eight boat placed fifth in their race with a time of 7:53.729.]]></description>
