Jon Guynes is in his first season on the Holy Cross coaching staff in 2008, serving as the outside linebackers coach. Guynes joins the Crusaders after spending the last two years as the linebackers coach at Iona College. During the 2007 campaign, Guynes helped lead Iona to an overall record of 7-4. He helped guide the career of Adam Lipski, who earned second team Mid-Major All-America honors from Don Hansen's Football Gazette in 2006 and the Sports Network in 2007, and was named the 2007 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Prior to his time at Iona, Guynes served as the defensive backs coach at Muhlenberg College in 2005. A 2005 graduate of Lehigh University, Guynes was a three-year starter at linebacker for the Mountain Hawks. He helped lead Lehigh to an overall record of 36-11 during his four seasons, including two trips to the NCAA Division I-AA playoffs. Guynes is single and resides in Worcester.
