Tim McDonnell Receives Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award

May 7, 2005

WORCESTER, Mass. - Senior wide receiver Tim McDonnell (Harrison, N.Y.), a member of the Holy Cross football team, has been selected as the inaugural recipient of the Daniel Allen Sportsmanship Award. The award was presented at the 51st Annual Varsity Club Dinner, held at the Hogan Campus Center on Saturday, May 7.

The Allen Award was established this year, and is presented to the Holy Cross varsity athlete who best exemplifies the qualities of sportsmanship that coach Allen exhibited throughout his life. McDonnell, who played for Allen during his first three seasons with the Crusaders, received the team's 2004 Unsung Hero Award, as the player who has supported the team spiritually, emotionally and physically for the good of the team.
