NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Senior Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) shot a nine-over par 149 over two rounds to lead the Holy Cross men's golf team to a 21st place finish at the MacDonald Cup, played on Saturday and Sunday at the Course at Yale. The Crusaders finished with a team total of 621 strokes, at 61-over par. Texas Christian won the team title with a 13-over par 573, while Yale's Taylor Hakes was the individual medalist at two-over par (142 strokes).

Following Czarnecki, senior Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) finished 68th as an individual with 156 strokes. Freshman James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) and senior Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.) tied for 100th place with 160 strokes, while junior Pat Brown (Silver Spring, Md.) finished in 104th place with 161 strokes.

The Crusaders return to action Oct. 13-14, when they take part in the ECAC Championship in Charlestown, R.I.
