Holy Cross Men's Golf Places 10th At ECAC Championship

CHARLESTOWN, R.I. -- Senior Matt Czarnecki (Greenwich, Conn.) shot a four-over par 146 over two rounds to lead the Holy Cross men's golf team to a 10th place finish at the 2007 ECAC Championship, played on Saturday and Sunday at the Shelter Harbor Golf Club. The Crusaders finished with a team total of 616 strokes, at 48-over par. St. Bonaventure won the team title with a 28-over par 596. Following Czarnecki in third place, senior Joe Hajjar (Mahwah, N.J.) finished 23rd as an individual with 153 strokes. Senior Ryan Kenny (Medford, Mass.) came in 28th with a 154, followed by junior Pat Brown (Silver Spring, Md.) in 63rd place with 163 strokes and freshman James Widman (Middlebury, Conn.) in 69th place with 172 strokes. The Crusaders return to action on Sunday, Oct. 21, when they face St. Anselm in a dual meet at the Marshfield Country Club. 2007 ECAC Championship Top Individual Scores: 1.
