Holy Cross Men's Lacrosse Drops 14-5 Game To #17 Army

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to No. 17 Army, 14-5, on Saturday afternoon in Patriot League action. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-4 overall (0-4 Patriot League), while the Black Knights improve to 5-2 overall (2-0 Patriot League).

Sophomore Edison Parzanese (Edgartown, Mass.) led the Crusaders with two goals and two assists for four points. Senior Toby Banta (Melrose, Mass.), sophomore Mike Nagle (Timonium, Md.) and freshman Conor McKenna (Summit, N.J.) each scored one goal.

Army was led by Jason Peyer's four goals.

The Black Knights scored the first five goals of the game before Banta netted a goal off an assist by Parzanese with 11:10 left in the second period. Army then scored four straight goals to bring a 9-1 lead into half time.

Nagle started the third period with a man-up goal with an assist by Parzanese to make it a 9-2 game. After the Black Knights scored two goals to increase their lead to 11-2, McKenna scored off a pass by freshman Colin Flood (Bay Shore, N.Y.). After Army made it 12-3, Parzanese scored the last goal of the third period to make it a 12-4 contest. In the fourth period, the Black Knights scored two straight goals followed by a goal by Parzanese assisted by senior Tim Redmond (Andover, Mass.) for the 14-5 final score.

Holy Cross junior goalie Jimmy Harrison (East Williston, N.Y.) made six saves in 52:33, while sophomore Connor Sweeney (South Salem, N.Y.) stopped one shot in 6:04. Army played four goalies including Adam Fullerton who made seven saves in 45:00. The Black Knights outshot the Crusaders, 36-25.

The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, March 25, when they travel to Hanover, N.H., to meet Dartmouth at 2:30 p.m.
