Holy Cross Men's Lacrosse Defeated By Harvard, 12-6 :: Toby Banta and Colin Flood each score two goals for Crusaders.

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's lacrosse team fell to Harvard, 12-6, on Saturday night at the Hart Turf Field in non-conference action. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 4-8 overall, while the Crimson improve to 5-7 overall.

Senior Toby Banta (Melrose, Mass.) and freshman Colin Flood (Bay Shore, N.Y.) each scored two goals for Holy Cross, while sophomore Edison Parzanese (Edgartown, Mass.) led the Crusaders in points with one goal and two assists for three points. Sophomore Mike Nagle (Timonium, Md.) also scored one goal.

Harvard was led by Travis Burr and Jason Duboe who each had three goals and one assist for four points.

The Crusaders took a 1-0 lead with a goal by Flood just 1:18 into the game. The Crimson then scored seven straight goals to move out to a 7-1 advantage. Banta scored with 5:30 left in the second period to make it a 7-2 game, but Harvard scored one more time in the period and took a 8-2 lead into half time.

The Crimson started the third period with two goals to increase their lead to 10-2 before Nagle scored to make it a 10-3 game going into the fourth period. The teams then traded goals with Banta scoring for Holy Cross. After Harvard scored to make it a 12-4 game, Parzanese and Flood each scored for the 12-6 final score.

Holy Cross junior goalie Jimmy Harrison (East Williston, N.Y.) made 13 saves, while Harvard's Joe Pike made 11 saves.

The Crusaders return to action on Tuesday, April 22, when they host Vermont at the Hart Turf Field at 7:00 p.m.
