The Men's Rowing Team Takes On Columbia And MIT

Cambridge, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's rowing team raced on Saturday on the Charles River in Cambridge, Mass., competing against Columbia and MIT for a chance to take home the Alumni Cup. They faced a slight headwind but the water was described as being good for the day's race.

The men's varsity eight boat finished second with a time of 6:22.76, while Columbia took first place, completing it in 6:19.44. The MIT boat rounded out the race with a time of 6:27.71. The Crusaders were able to keep the lead over Columbia in the second varsity eight race, beating them by two hundredths of a second. Holy Cross ended at 6:30.08, while the Lions of Columbia finished close behind with a time of 6:30.10. In the novice eight, Columbia took first place with a time of 6:31.22, the Crusaders followed at 6:42.87, and MIT closed out the race at 7:13.45.

The Holy Cross men's rowing team is back in action on Saturday, April 14 in Camden, New Jersey to compete for the Knetch Cup. The next home event will take place on Saturday, April 28 against Northeastern and Rutgers.
