Bucknell Defeats Holy Cross, 2-0

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's soccer team was defeated 2-0 by Bucknell in their first Patriot League game of the season Saturday afternoon at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium.

After a scoreless first half, Bucknell got on the board with an unassisted score by Chris Hennings with 13:05 left to go in the game. Bucknell added an insurance tally with 24 seconds left in the game off a score by Anthony Ferraro.

The Bison out shot the Crusaders 14 to 11.

Holy Cross sophomore goalkeeper Keith Bauer (Commack, N.Y.) made three saves in the loss, while Bucknell goalie Joey Kuterbach recorded his fifth win of the season after making three stops.

The Crusaders fall to 3-3 overall and 0-1 in the Patriot League, while the Bison improve to 5-1-2 and 1-0 in conference play.

The Crusaders return to action when they host Northeastern at Linda Johnson Smith Stadium on Tuesday at 7:00pm.
