Box Score

WORCESTER, Mass. - Kyle Miller (Woodbury, N.J.) scored his second career game-winning goal, lifting Holy Cross to a 3-2 overtime Patriot League victory over American. The Crusaders improve to 7-4-3, 3-0-2 in league play while American falls to 6-8-2 and 3-1-1 in the Patriot League.

Jon Werth (University Park, Md.) set up the game-winner for the Crusaders, making a perfect cross to Miller in front of the net, clinching the third Patriot League victory for Holy Cross.

American's Mike Wordon erased a scoreless first half netting an unassisted goal after his shot bounced off the top bar of the net and into the goal. Just 2:14 later, Anthony Moy scored the second Eagles goal on an open net, giving American a 2-0 cushion over Holy Cross.

After trailing 2-0, the Crusaders answered back with two goals in less than six minutes. Alejandro Melean (Miami, Fla.) brought the Crusaders within one, finishing a penalty kick to the left corner of the Eagles' goal with 29:24 left in the game. Marsalis Beckford (Chelmsford, Mass.) continued the offensive Crusader momentum, passing the ball to Miller from midfield setting up his first goal of the game.

Crusader goalkeeper Thomas Booth (Patchogue, N.Y.) recorded two saves while the Eagles' Chris Sedlak made two stops.

The men's soccer team hosts Boston College of Wednesday October, 31 with a game scheduled at 7:00 p.m.
