Worcester, Mass. - Freshman Jon Werth (University Park, Md.) scored his third goal of the season as Holy Cross tied Lafayette, 1-1, in a double overtime Patriot League contest this afternoon. With today's game, Holy Cross concluded its regular season play and will prepare for the Patriot League tournament, scheduled to begin on Friday, November 16.

The Crusaders took an early lead as Werth chipped the ball past Leopards' goalkeeper Philip Nelson, assisted by Kyle Miller (Woodbury, N.J.), 34:43 remaining in the first half.

Holy Cross held the 1-0 lead with 10 minutes remaining in the game until Lafayette's B.J. Glenn netted the tying goal, clinching the fourth seed in the Patriot League tournament for the Leopards. Scott Hawkins recorded the assist for Lafayette.

Crusaders' goalkeeper Thomas Booth (Patchogue, N.Y.) recorded six saves while Nelson made eight stops.

Holy Cross ended the regular season at 8-5-6 and 4-0-3 in the Patriot League while Lafayette finished 9-3-6 and 3-1-3 in league action.

The Crusaders will play an opponent to be determined in the Patriot League semifinals next weekend with the location to be announced this weekend.
