Sept. 5, 2004

Durham, N.H. - Junior midfielder Anthony Cinelli (New Hyde Park, N.Y.) scored on a penalty kick in the first five minutes of the game to give Holy Cross (1-1) a 1-0 win over the University of New Hampshire at the men's soccer Nike Fall Classic at UNH's Lewis Field on Sunday.

The win gave the Crusaders a second-place finish in the tournament. It was also their first win of the season.

Richard Whipple (Columbus, Ga.) made 4 saves in the game to record his first shutout of the season. Whipple and UNH keeper Brian Levey (2 saves) were among four goalies named to the All-Tournament Team.

Junior Kevin Leonard (Unionville, Conn.) and sophomore Josh Trott (Glen Cove, NY) were also named to the All-Tournament Team. The University of Vermont had 4 players on the All-Tournament squad, including tournament MVP Corey Bronner, who led the Catamounts to a first-place tournament finish. The Crusaders lost to UVM on Saturday, 1-0 in double overtime, also on a penalty kick.

Holy Cross will next take the field on Saturday, September 11 when they host New Jersey Tech. Game time is slated for 3:00.
