Men's Swimming & Diving Earns 16 On Honor Roll
Sixteen members of the Holy Cross men's swimming and diving team have been selected to the 2009 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by the league office, including sophomore Matt Mullaney who earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average in the spring semester. He was just one of six members of the men's swimming and diving honor roll to record a 4.0. Also senior Brian Hendrickson made the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll for the fourth time. Holy Cross Receives NCAA Public Recognition Awards
Fourteen Holy Cross varsity athletic teams have received Division I Academic Progress Rate public recognition awards from the NCAA. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of the broad Division I academic reform effort. Holy Cross' 14 total teams to be honored tied for the eighth most in the nation. Other schools with at least 14 teams receiving public recognition awards were Yale (28), Brown (21), Dartmouth (21), Penn (19), Harvard (18), Princeton (18), Bucknell (17) and Notre Dame (14). Holy Cross Announces Team Awards
Holy Cross head swimming and diving coach Barry Parenteau has announced team awards for the 2008-2009 season, along with captains for the 2009-2010 season. The Crusaders held a year end awards banquet on Tuesday, March 31. Junior Lauren Tatro, junior Maggie Gousman and junior Alisha Carrazza were named captains for the 2009-2010 women's team. Junior Ryan Boate, junior Brian Livingston and junior Joseph McShane were named men's captains. (more)
