Boston College Tops Holy Cross, 178-81

Worcester, Mass. - The Boston College men's swimming and diving team defeated Holy Cross, 178-81 Tuesday at the Hart Pool. Sophomore Kevin Mullaney (Livingston, N.J.) placed second in the 100 fly (59.59), the 200 individual medley (2:22.71) and the 200 fly (2:24.16) to lead the Crusaders.

Freshmen Stephen Dutton (Burlington, Mass.) and Andrew Ferrara (Ann Arbor, Mich.), sophomore Matt Frigault (East Freetown, Mass.) and junior Matt Talucci (Cherry Hill, N.J.) all recorded two second place finishes for Holy Cross.

Dutton placed second in both the 100 back (1:11.46) and the 200 back (2:28.32), while fellow frosh Ferrara placed second in the 100 breast (1:13.60) and the 500 free (5:40.54).

Frigault had a time of 2:48.66 in the 200 breast and 13:54.35 in the 1000 free, both good for second. Talucci had a 2:01.88 finish in the 200 free and a 55.63 mark in the 100 free.

Junior Brian Laws placed second in the 50 free (24.91) while senior Chris Kurek amassed 166.27 points in the 3 meter dive, good enough for a third place standing.
