Men's Swimming Places 14 On Academic All-League Team

WORCESTER, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's swimming and diving squad has placed 14 student-athletes on the 2007 Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, as announced by league officials. Sophomore Brian Hendrickson (West Hartford, Conn.) led the Crusaders with a 3.92 grade point average during the spring semester, the fifth-highest mark in the conference. A total of 81 student-athletes were named to this year's men's swimming honor roll.

In addition to Hendrickson, representing the Crusaders are seniors Matt Frigault (East Freetown, Mass.), Brian Jackson (Phoenixville, Pa.) and Kevin Mullaney (Livingston, N.J.); juniors Matthew Shea (Sandwich, Mass.), Chris Smith (West Haven, Conn.) and Shannon Sweeney (Philadelphia, Pa.); sophomores Matthew Grogan (Allenwood, N.J.), Mike Marquet (Reston, Va.), Sean O'Reilly (Bronx, N.Y.) and John Ringwood (Cheshire, Conn.); and freshmen Michael Dougher (Amherst, N.Y.), Stefan Opolski (Haverhill, Mass.) and Michael Ragone (New Rochelle, N.Y.).

To be eligible for the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must earn a 3.20 grade point average in the spring semester and be awarded a varsity letter.
