Men's Tennis Concludes Season At PL Tournament
The Holy Cross men's tennis team traveled Hamilton, N.Y. to compete in the Patriot League Tournament hosted by Colgate. The Crusaders took on Army in the first round, falling 4-0 to finish the spring season with a 2-6 record. At No. 1 singles, Matt Wierzel (Garden City, N.Y.) fell to Phil Muhawi 6-1, 6-2. John Burke (Burlington, Mass.) was trailing Eddie Kang at No. 2 singles 6-0, 3-3, when the match was stopped after the overall team outcome was determined. (more)

Angelo Sica and the mens tennis squad were one of 15 Holy Cross teams honored for their academic work.

HC Receives Public Recognition Award
Fifteen Holy Cross varsity athletic teams have received Division I Academic Progress Rate public recognition awards from the NCAA. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of the broad Division I academic reform effort. The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. (more)

Men's Tennis Defeated By Fordham
The Holy Cross men's tennis team traveled to Fordham on Saturday for its final regular season match of the season. The Crusaders were defeated by the Rams 7-0, dropping to 2-6 overall on the spring. At No. 1 doubles Matt Wierzel and John Burke played tough against Dallas Harting and Austin Shoup, but dropped a close match in a tiebreaker 9-8 (8-6). At No. 1 singles Wierzel played well against Harting but could not pull out the victory as he fell 4-6, 6-3, 10-5. (more)
