Patriot League Track & Field Championship Meet Concludes

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - The Holy Cross men's track and field team has finished day two of competition at the 2008 Patriot League outdoor championship meet hosted by Navy. On the men's side, Navy claimed first place with 199 points and Holy Cross finished eighth with 16 points. The men had nine top 10 finishes on the weekend.

In the men's individual events, Jonathan Medeiros (New Bedford, Mass.) led the team with a fifth place finish in the discus with a toss of 144'11". Thomas Harrison (Wilmington, N.C.) took seventh in the triple jump with a distance of 43'90" and Kyle Rougeot (Torrington, Conn.) took seventh in the 5000-meter run with a time of 15:23.94.

The men's 4x400 relay team took third with a time of 3:16.78, qualifying for the IC4A Championship. The team included Sean Murphy (Shrewsbury, Mass.), Chase Kennedy (Marblehead, Mass.), Richard Waldmann (Stony Brook, N.Y.) and Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.).

Holy Cross returns to action this coming weekend when it heads to Durham, N.H., for the New England Championship.
