Jersey City, N.J. - Senior guard Laura Aloisi (Nashua, N.H.), freshman guard Alyssa May (Oradell, N.J.), and senior forward Ashley McLaughlin (Andover, Mass.) scored eight points a piece but it wasn't enough as the Holy Cross women's basketball team fell to St. Peter's, 56-41. The Crusaders drop to 5-8 while St. Peter's improves to 9-4.

St. Peter's jumped out to an early 9-3 led as Natasha Morris led the scoring with five points. The Crusaders tied the game 9-9 with 10:22 left in the first half, but the Peahens' Tania Kennedy led St. Peter's in a 10-4 run with 10 points, making the score 19-14.

Holy Cross freshman center Elizabeth Campbell (Louisville, Ky.) brought the Crusaders within one point with five seconds left in the first half. At the break, the Peahens led the Crusaders, 24-23.

McLaughlin led the first half scoring for the Crusaders with seven points while Kennedy had 12 for St. Peter's.

Kennedy continued to keep things hot for the Peahens entering the second half, leading St. Peter's in a 11-6 run, scoring six points.

The Peahens lead continued to grow as St. Peter's grabbed its biggest lead of 20 points ahead of Holy Cross, 53-33, with 3:10 left in the game. Scoring 10 points in the second half, Kennedy led the Peahens to a 56-41 final.

Aloisi finished the game with nine rebounds and three assists while May chipped in six boards, one block and a steal. McLaughlin recorded five rebounds, one assist and a steal for the Crusaders.

Holy Cross travels to Yale for its next game on Sunday, January 6, scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m.
