Worcester, Mass. - Junior guard Brittany Keil scored a game-high 16 points and sophomore guard Laura Aloisi added 14 points and a team-high six assists to lead the Holy Cross women's basketball team to a 56-41 win over Bucknell on Saturday afternoon at the Hart Center. With the win, Holy Cross snaps a two-game skid and improves to 11-12 (7-3 Patriot League), while ending a seven-game winning streak for the Bison (15-8, 8-2 Patriot League), and sweeping the season series.

Junior center Kaitlin Foley added 12 points and grabbed a team-high nine boards. Keil had all 16 points at the half, while Foley had 10 points and five rebounds at the break.

Holy Cross went into the half with a 32-15 advantage, after holding the Bison to just 18.8 percent shooting in the first. The Crusaders jumped out to a 12-0 lead in the first seven minutes, as the Bison struggled offensively, starting the game 0-for-13 from the floor. The Crusaders had a 16-5 lead at the ten-minute mark following a Keil jumper from the corner, and extended its lead to 13 points (26-13) with 2:05 on the clock. Holy Cross led by as much as 19 in the first (32-13) just before the intermission.

The Bison opened the second half with a vengeance, scoring six points in the first seventy-six seconds, to go along with two steals, while cutting the lead to 11 (32-21). But an Aloisi triple at the 15:36 mark put the Crusaders up by 14 (37-23). The Bison cut the lead to 10 (37-27) with 14:26 remaining, but the Crusaders would not back down, and took a 16 point lead (44-28) after an Aloisi drive to the basket with 9:10 remaining. Holy Cross then extended its lead to 17 (49-32) following a Jessica Conte three-ball with 6:16 on the clock, sealing the game. Bucknell came within 11 with 1:18 to go, but would not get any closer.

Holy Cross shot 40 percent for the game and held the Bison to just 23.1 percent from the floor, while outrebounding them 43-42 for the game.

Lauren Schober led the Bison with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Kesha Champion added 10 points and five rebounds.

Holy Cross closes out its three-game home stand with a showdown against Navy on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Hart Center. Tip-off is slated for 7:05 p.m.
