2008 is Alicia Hawk's first season as the head field hockey coach at Holy Cross. Originally from Argentina, Hawk brings international flair to the traditions of the Holy Cross field hockey program as head coach.

As an assistant coach for the Crusaders for the last three seasons, Hawk helped guide Holy Cross to an overall record of 30-29 and a 9-6 record in Patriot League play. During her three years as assistant coach, Holy Cross made two appearances in the Patriot League championship game.

A member of the Patriot League All-Decade Team in field hockey, Hawk graduated from Holy Cross in 1999 and was a four-year letterwinner with the Crusaders. On May 5, 2007, Hawk was inducted into the Holy Cross Hall of Fame for her standout performances as a student-athlete from 1995-1998. She is the second field hockey player to earn this honor, while she currently stands as one of only six players in Holy Cross field hockey history to total 100 points or more.

In 1998, Hawk served as team captain and was named both the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year and the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She still stands as the only Holy Cross field hockey player in program history to be named as the Patriot League Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

A two-time All-New England Region and two-time All-Patriot League selection, Hawk earned Patriot League Tournament Most Valuable Player honors as a senior and finished the season ranked in the top 10 nationally in goals scored.

Hawk led the Patriot League in scoring in both 1997 and 1998, while helping the Crusaders to back-to-back Patriot League Tournament titles and back-to-back NCAA Tournament play-in games.

Following her senior season, Hawk was named the team Most Valuable Player, selected to the Division I North-South Senior All-Star Team, and awarded the Holy Cross Norton Prize.

Hawk is currently tied for the program record for goals in a single season (19 goals in 1998), and is ranked second in program history for points in a single season (42 points in 1998). Hawk had held the record for points in a single season for almost 10 years before Tara Welch recorded 46 points in 2005.

In addition, Hawk is ranked fifth in program history for assists in a single season (10 assists in 1997), is tied for sixth in program history for career goals (40 career goals), tied for fifth in career assists (20 career assists), and ranked sixth in program history for career points (100 points).

Hawk earned a degree in history with a concentration in Latin American studies from Holy Cross in 1999. In 2002, she earned a master's degree in Latin American and Caribbean studies from Indiana University, where she also served as team manager for the field hockey team.

Hawk and her husband Kent reside in Rutland, Mass., with their two children.
