WORCESTER, Mass. - Two assists from junior Francine Polet contributed to Harvard's 2-0 victory over Holy Cross in a non-conference match-up at the Hart Turf Field.

After a scoreless first half, the Crimson took advantage of a penalty corner as Polet passed the ball to sophomore Kristin Bannon. Amongst the scramble of white and crimson players, Bannon was able to chip it past goalkeeper Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) to give Harvard a 1-0 lead with 26:56 left in the game.

Just under three minutes later, another corner would end in Harvard's favor as junior Tami Jafar turn Polet's pass into a Crimson goal, making the score 2-0.

Singleton made seven saves for the Crusaders while junior Kylie Stone made four stops for Harvard. Holy Cross drops to 3-3 while the Crimson improves to 3-1.

The field hockey team travels to New Hampshire for a game on Sunday September, 16 at 1:00 p.m.
