Field Hockey Tops Lafayette, 1-0

EASTON, Pa. - Freshman forward Kara Gonnerman (St. Louis, Mo.) netted her third career goal and first game-winner as Holy Cross earned its first Patriot League win over Lafayette, 1-0. Gonnerman capitalized on a pass from Courtney Callahan (Acton, Mass.), beating out Lafayette's goalkeeper, Courtney Dixon, scoring the lone Crusader goal. With three goals and one assist, Gonnerman is ranked second on the team in points with seven. Holy Cross goalkeeper Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) had two saves and recorded her seventh career shutout. Holy Cross is now 3-7, 1-0 Patriot League, while Lafayette holds a 3-7 record and is 0-1 in the league. The Crusaders travel to Columbia tomorrow for a game at 1:00 p.m. |
