Box Score

LEWISBURG, Pa. - Kim Powell (Chapel Hill, N.C.), Lauren Coletta (Mendon, Mass.), and Courtney Callahan (Acton, Mass.) each scored a goal as Holy Cross edged Bucknell, 3-2, in Patriot League action this afternoon.

Amanda Faust gave Bucknell it's only lead of the game after scoring on a penalty corner, assisted by Steph Graf, just 10:31 into the game.

Powell turned a scoring opportunity for Holy Cross on a penalty stroke into an even score with 12:30 left in the first half. Just 2:40 later, Coletta finished a pass from Sara O'Coin (Worcester, Mass.) in front of the goal, making the score 2-1. Refusing to give an inch, Coletta hit a hard shot from the top of the circle to Callahan, who tipped the shot passed Bison goalkeeper Jessie Atiech, giving the Crusaders a 3-1 lead.

Faust continued her efforts to lead Bucknell's offense, scoring with 23:29 left in the game, bringing the Bison within one, making the final 3-2.

Holy Cross goalkeeper Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) made seven saves while Atieh had six stops for Bucknell.

The Crusaders improve to 5-11, 2-2 in the Patriot League, while Bucknell falls to 7-8 and 0-4 in league action.

The Holy Cross field hockey team travels to Brown on Wednesday, October 24 for a non-conference game scheduled at 4:00 p.m.
