Box Score

Providence, R.I. - Kim Powell (Chapel Hill, N.C.) recorded her first career game-winning goal and an assist, lifting Holy Cross to a 3-2 overtime victory over Brown in non-conference action.

Powell scored the overtime goal for Holy Cross on a penalty stroke, notching the Crusaders' second season overtime victory.

Leading the Crusaders offense, Katie Talbert (Louisville, Ky.) scored her first of two goals with 13:35 left in the first half, assisted by Powell. Slightly over nine minutes later, Talbert gave the Crusaders' a 2-0 cushion over Brown, firing a shot at the left post side past goalkeeper Lauren Kessler.

Entering the second half, the Bears wasted little time to get back into the game as Sandhya Dhir shot towards the right post to Tracy Zysk, who tipped it into the goal, making the score 2-1. Victoria Sacco evened the score, finishing a direct shot off a corner from Sara Eaton, locking the teams at 2-2 to close out regulation scoring.

Crusader goalkeeper Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) made seven saves while Kessler made six stops.

The Crusaders improve to 6-11 while Brown falls to 0-14.

Holy Cross closes out its Patriot League play on Saturday, October 27, hosting American for a game scheduled at 12:00 p.m.
