WORCESTER, Mass. - Irene Schickhardt scored two goals and notched an assist in the second half, lifting American to a 4-0 victory over Holy Cross. The Eagles improve to 14-4, 5-0 in the Patriot League, while Holy Cross falls to 6-12 and 2-3 in the league.

American wasted no time increasing its lead over the Crusaders after holding a 1-0 lead heading into the second half. Schickhardt set up Christine Fingerhuth's goal, allowing Fingerhuth to score on a high shot 1:17 into the half, ricocheting the ball off the top bar and into the goal.

Just 3:19 later, Schickhardt gave the Eagles a 3-0 lead, lifting an unassisted shot into the top right corner of the goal.

A second high shot by Schickhardt netted the final goal, giving American to its fifth league victory.

Anne Meike-deWiljes scored the lone goal of the first half first on a penalty stroke with 15:40 left in the half.

The Crusaders' Erin Singleton (Amesbury, Mass.) made eight saves while American's Alyssa Poorman had four stops and earned her sixth season shutout.

Holy Cross ends its regular season hosting Dartmouth tomorrow with a game scheduled at 2:00 p.m.
