Holy Cross Finishes Sixth At Williams Spring Invitational
The Holy Cross women's golf team finished in sixth place out of eight teams at the Williams Spring Invitational at the Taconic Golf Club. Freshman Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) led the Crusaders with a two-round score of 174 for a tie for 15th place. Holy Cross had a total score of 720, while Middlebury College won the event with a score of 671. Freshman Johanna Gavin (Hackettstown, N.J.) had the second best score for the Crusaders with a 176 which was good enough for 20th place, while freshman Jennifer Finger (Mount Vernon, N.Y.) had a score of 185 and a 33rd place finish. HC Receives Public Recognition Award
Fifteen Holy Cross varsity athletic teams have received Division I Academic Progress Rate public recognition awards from the NCAA. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of the broad Division I academic reform effort. The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. (more)

HC Places Fifth At Leaman Invitational
The Holy Cross women's golf team tied for fifth place out of 10 teams at the Jack Leaman Invitational at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Mass. and at the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. Senior Amy Lussier finished in 10th place with a two-round score of 170 to lead the Crusaders. Holy Cross had a total score of 703, while Boston University won the event with a score of 690. Senior Ellen Lamson had the second best score for the Crusaders with a 173. (more)
