Holy Cross Women's Golf Names 2009-2010 Captains
The Holy Cross women's golf program has named juniors Meghan Doherty and Johanna Gavin as 2009-2010 team captains. Doherty led the team last season with an 83.3 average and had the best score for Holy Cross in all seven competitions. She finished 29th place at the Big South Championship, totaling a score of 252 over three rounds. In addition to her achievements on the course, Doherty was selected to the 2009 Big South All-Academic team for her work in the classroom. (more)

Alicia Molt and the womens golf squad were one of 14 Holy Cross teams honored for their academic work.

HC Receives Public Recognition Awards
Fourteen Holy Cross varsity athletic teams have received Division I Academic Progress Rate public recognition awards from the NCAA. These teams posted multi-year APR scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports. The public recognition awards are part of the broad Division I academic reform effort. Holy Cross' 14 total teams to be honored tied for the eighth most in the nation. Yale led the nation with 28 teams honored. (more)

Women's Golf Wraps Up Season
Holy Cross wrapped up the 2008-2009 season by placing ninth out of 11 schools at the Jack Leaman Invitational, held at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Mass., and the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass. The Crusaders finished with a team total of 738 strokes over two rounds. Earlier last week, the Crusaders finished in eighth place at the Big South Championship, held at the Patriot Golf Club in Ninety Six, S.C. (more)
