NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C.- The Holy Cross women's golf team stands in eighth place after day one of the three-day Big South Conference Championship, which is being held at the Coosaw Creek Country Club in North Charleston, S.C. The Crusaders finished the day with a total of 389 strokes. Birmingham Southern currently leads the event with 311 strokes through the first day.

Junior Amy Lussier (Milton, Mass.) led the Crusaders with a round of 87, and is currently in 29th place. Junior Ellen Lamson (South Royalton, Vt.) had the second best round for the Crusaders as she shot a 91 and is tied for 34th place. Lara Peffley of Radford had the top individual score of the day, carding a 75.

The competition continues on Tuesday morning, and will conclude on Wednesday.
