Crusaders Compete In Big South Championship

Ninety-Six, S.C. - The Holy Cross women's golf team opened the spring season at the Big South Championship at the Patriot Golf Club in Grand Harbor.

Leading the Crusaders was freshman Amy Lussier (Milton, Mass.), who finished in 33rd with a final score of 262. Lussier shot a team-low round of 84 in the first.

Newcomer Ellen Lamson (South Royalton, Vt.), who came in 35th-place, was Holy Cross' second top-golfer with a three-round score of 290 (97-94-99). Placing 36th was junior Jessica Martin (Denver, Colo.), who tallied a three-round score of 299.

Also competing was Senior captain Claudia Rothschild (Garden City, N.Y.), who came in 37th totaled a final score of 300 and freshman Chelsea DuHaime (Concord, N.H.), who shoot a three-round score of 313.

Holy Cross next competes in the Jack Leaman Women's Intercollegiate, Saturday-Sunday, April 23-24. Competition will commence at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Hickory Ridge Golf Club in South Amherst, Mass., while day two will be held the Orchards Golf Club in South Hadley, Mass., with a shot gun start of 11 a.m.
