Doherty Named Big South Women's Golfer Of The Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Holy Cross freshman golfer Meghan Doherty (Westerly, R.I.) has been named the Big South Conference Choice Hotels Women's Golfer of the Week, for her performance at the Williams Fall Classic at the Taconic Golf Club in Williamstown, Mass. She led the Crusaders with a two-round score of 161 (79-82), which was good enough for a tie for fourth-place. Holy Cross finished second overall out of 10 teams as the Crusaders have earned two second-place finishes so far this season. Doherty has had the best finish for the Crusaders in all three competitions this season and her 80.67 per round average ranks 19th in the Big South. The Crusaders return to action on Oct. 27 and 28, when they will take part in the Sacred Heart Invitational. |
