Holy Cross Defeats St. Michael's, 3-0

Manchester, N.H. - The Holy Cross women's ice hockey team traveled up to Saint Anselm to play in the semi-finals of the ECAC Women's Open Tournament against Saint Michael's. Holy Cross defeated Saint Michael's 3-0 to end their season with a 16-8-3 overall record, while Saint Michaels fell to 8-16-1.

In the first period freshman Jocelyn Kratchmer (Watrous, Saskatchewan) scored the first goal of the game at 11:34 with assists from junior Stephanie Couzin (Chicago, Ill.) and senior Casey Harvell (Lexington, Mass.). At 18:13 senior Sam Rush (Wakefield, Mass.) put in the second goal of the game, short-handed, with an assist by sophomore Lisa Wilson (Corunna, Ontario). Holy Cross made nine shots on goal and Saint Michael's made three.

In the second period no goals were scored. Holy Cross took 10 shots on goal while Saint Michael's took five.

In the third period senior Katie Falkowski (East Sandwich, Mass.) put in the final goal of the game at 17:49 with an assist by sophomore Katelyn Doherty (Toronto, Ontario). Holy Cross made 12 shots on goal while Saint Michaels made six.

In goal for the Crusaders was freshman Monique Gallant (Antigonish, Nova Scotia) with 14 saves improving to 13-6-3. In goal for Saint Michael's was Melanie Cullen with 28 saves dropping to 8-13-1.
