WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman goaltender Monique Gallant (Antigonish, Nova Scotia) has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from February 25-March 2. Gallant led the Holy Cross women's ice hockey team to a third-place finish at the ECAC Open Tournament last weekend.

In Sunday's 3-0 victory over St. Michael's in the ECAC Open third-place game, Gallant posted her third shutout of the season, while making 14 saves. The shutout was also the second by Gallant in Holy Cross' last three games, as she also held St. Anselm scoreless in a 0-0 tie on Feb. 24.

In 22 games played this season, Gallant posted a 13-6-3 record with 444 saves and a 2.39 goals against average.

The Crusaders finished the season with an overall record of 16-8-3, and placed third in the ECAC East with a 13-4-2 mark in conference games.
