Kaufman was also elected co-captain of the 2007-08 women's rowing team. Kaufman joined the rowing team as a novice in 2004 and moved her way into a varsity boat for the 2005 portion of the season. During her sophomore and junior years, Kaufman rowed in both the 2nd and 3rd varsity eights and varsity four. In 2007 Kaufman stroked the 3rd varsity eight to a gold medal at the New England Rowing Championships.
