Complete Results

Worcester, Mass. - With major head wind and chop, the Holy Cross men's rowing teams went up against Dartmouth, while the women's teams competed against Simmons, New Hampshire and UMass Lowell on Sunday. The Crusaders won both of the women's races that were completed, while the men were victorious in one of three races.

Several races were canceled due to high winds and choppy water, including all varsity and novice four races. Also, the women's second varsity eight race was not complete due to dangerous water conditions.

The women's varsity eight boat beat second place Simmons by 16.9 seconds with a time of 8:30.0. Finishing third in the race was New Hampshire with a time of 8:58.1.

In the women's novice eight, the Crusaders placed first and third with a times of 9:54.7 and 10:50.2, respectively. Finishing in second was New Hampshire, who finished with a time of 10:33.4, while UMass Lowell placed fourth with a time of 12:19.0.

The men's varsity eight boat `A' came in first ahead of the Dartmouth Lightweights and Holy Cross boat `B', with a time of 7:59.0.

In the men's novice eight and men's second varsity eight, Holy Cross finished second to the Dartmouth Lightweights in both races. The Crusaders finished the novice race with a time of 8:07.7, while the second varsity eight boat finished with a time of 7:50.1.

Both teams next compete on Saturday, April 9, against Massachusetts, Trinity and Mount Holyoke on the Quinsigamond River, in Worcester, Mass.
