HC Races At ECAC National Invitational Championship

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's and women's rowing teams competed in the ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championship at Lake Quinsigamond on Sunday, May 8.

After racing was canceled on Saturday due to inclement weather, five boats competed on Sunday. The women's varsity eight boat advanced to the semifinals, where it finished fourth in its heat with a time of 06:52.87. The Crusaders just missed out on advancing to the final, posting the seventh-fastest time in the semis.

Leading Holy Cross men's team on the day was the varsity eight boat, which finished third with a time of 5:52.73 behind first-place Michigan (5:50.06) and second-place Trinity (5:50.90). Also coming in third was the men's varsity lighweight eight, which finished with a time of 6:16.04, beating out Ohio State, WPI and Skidmore.

In the men's novice eight boat, the Crusaders finished third in their heat with a time of 6:12.144, good for fifth place overall. In addition, the men's second novice eight placed fourth in its heat and seventh overall with a time of 6:59.138.
