Crusaders Place Third At NE Championship

Worcester, Mass. - The Holy Cross men's rowing team placed third with 12.9 points, while the women's team finished fourth with 13.65 points at the New England Championship on Sunday, May 1. The Crusaders combined to finish third with 26.55 points.

In the women's Third Varsity Eight race, the Crusadres placed fourth with a time of 7:44.34, defeating Moutn Holyoke by nine seconds.

Placing first in the petite final for an overall seventh-place finish was the Crusaders' women's Novice Eight boat with a time of 7:21.50. The boat cut 70 seconds of its time from the preliminary race. In the women's Varsity Eight race, Holy Cross clocked 6:57.80 to place 11th overall in the finals.

In the men's Varsity Eight race, the Crusaders finished second with a time of 5:48.32. The men's Novice Eight boat finished second in the final race with a time of 6:09.72, while the men's second Novice Eight also finished second in the final with a time of 6:11.59. All three boats were defeated finished second to Trinity in the finals.

The men's Varsity Four boat placed fourth in the grand final with a time of 6:52.76. Holy Cross came in behind WPI, Bowdoin and Rhode Island.
