DURHAM, N.H. - The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to New Hampshire, 5-0, in non-conference action on Wednesday night. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 1-1 overall, while the Wildcats improve to 2-1 overall.

New Hampshire scored the first goal of the game at the 39:20 mark when Michelle Sheehan netted her third goal of the season. Just 21 seconds later the Wildcats extended their lead to 2-0 with a goal by Caitlin Whelan. At the 56:37 mark, Sheehan scored her second goal of the game, while four minutes later Whelan netted her second goal of the game. Adriana Gonzalez-Medina scored the last goal of the game at 72:24 for the 5-0 final score.

Sophomore goalie Jessica Stone (Rockville, Md.) played the first half of the game as she made six saves, while freshman Mary Ferketic (West Hartford, Conn.) played the second half and stopped three shots. Ally Yost earned the shutout for the Wildcats with four saves.

The Crusaders return to action when they host Central Connecticut for the home-opener at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium on Friday, September 7 at 7:00 p.m.
