Worcester, Mass. - Senior Meredith Davis (Worcester, Mass.) scored the game-winning goal as Holy Cross defeated New Hampshire 1-0, Wednesday at Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium.

Goalkeeper Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass.) had a strong first half with eight saves on 13 shots to keep the Crusaders in the game.

Megan Metzger (Warwick, N.Y.) sent Davis on a break away in the second half to score the only goal of the game (58:09) and lead the Crusaders to their second win of the season. This was Davis' first goal of the year and the 12th of her career.

Pietrowicz totaled 12 saves in the goal and recorded a shutout, the first of the season and the second of her career.

Holy Cross improves to 2-5-1 overall while New Hampshire drops to 2-5 on the season.

The Crusaders will travel to Sacred Heart Friday at 3:30 p.m. for another non-conference game.
