ORONO, Maine. - The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to Maine, 5-0, in non-conference action this afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 2-5 overall, while the Black Bears improve to 2-3-2 overall.

The Black Bears made it a 1-0 game at 4:30 into the contest with a goal by Angelica Hodgson as she volleyed the ball into the left side of the net. At the 12:48 mark, Laura Martel put the ball into the bottom right corner of the net to give Maine a 2-0 lead, while Cari Gill scored Maine's third goal of the game at the 35:20 mark. In the second half, Christine LaBelle and Martel added goals for the 5-0 final score.

Holy Cross freshman goalie Mary Ferketic (West Hartford, Conn.) made five saves, while Jasmine Phillips earned the win for the Black Bears as she played the first 73:05 of the game.

The Crusaders return to action on Sunday, September 23, when they host Hartford at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
