Women's Soccer Falls To Army, 2-1

WEST POINT, N.Y. - The Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to Army, 2-1, in Patriot League action this afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-11 overall (1-3 Patriot League), while the Black Knights improve to 7-6-1 overall (3-1 Patriot League). Junior Casey Boland (Langhorne, Pa.) scored Holy Cross' goal for her second of the season.

Army took a 1-0 lead at 15:14 into the game when Sarah Goss scored an unassisted goal with a shot from 20 yards out. At the 33:11 mark, Boland tied the game at 1-1 when she fired a shot from 20 yards out to the right of Army goalie Alex Lostetter. Sophomore Chelsi Pugliese (Pembroke, Mass.) assisted on the goal for her team-best third assist of the season.

At the 50:59 mark, Army's Amelia Janoski scored the game-winner when she scored off a corner kick.

Holy Cross senior goalie Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass.) made five saves, while Lostetter stopped two shots.

The Crusaders return to action on Monday, October 22, when they host Fairfield on Senior Night at the Linda Johnson Smith Soccer Stadium at 7:00 p.m.
