Holy Cross Women's Soccer Falls To Navy, 2-0

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Navy's Kari Weniger scored two goals as the Holy Cross women's soccer team fell to Navy, 2-0, in Patriot League action on Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 3-14 overall (1-5 Patriot League), while the Mids improve to 9-4-4 overall (2-1-2 Patriot League).

Navy made it a 1-0 game at 2:36 into the contest when Kari Weniger scored from two yards out off a cross by Carey Young. In the second half, the Mids increased their lead to 2-0 with Weniger's second goal of the game. Brigitte Fox earned the assist.

Holy Cross senior goalie Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass.) allowed one goal and made four saves in the first half, while sophomore Jessica Stone (Rockville, Md.) allowed one goal and stopped six shots in the second half. Navy's Lizzie Barnes made three saves.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, November 3, when they travel to Easton, Pa. to take on Patriot League opponent Lafayette in the season-finale at 1:00 p.m.
