BC Shuts Out Holy Cross

Aug. 31, 2004

Newton, Mass. - The Holy Cross women's soccer team was shutout by Boston College, 3-0, Tuesday evening at the Eagles' Newton Campus Field.

Boston College opened up scoring at 20:15 into the game with a goal by Kia McNeill. Heather Ferron was credited with the assist on the goal.

The Eagles scored a second time with just 17 seconds into the second half on a pass from McNeill to Molly Dane. The Eagles wrapped up the game with a third goal at the 88:53 mark on an unassisted goal from Laina Ceddia.

Freshman Alison Peters (Bolton, Mass.) recorded the Crusaders' lone shot in the second half.

Eileen Geoghegan (Merrimac, Mass.) started in goal for the Crusaders and made two saves. Jessica Pietrowicz (Worcester, Mass.) stepped into the net at the start of the second half and halted five shots.

Holy Cross returns home on Sunday, Sept. 5 to take on Siena College at 1 p.m.
