WORCESTER, Mass. - Sophomore midfielder Sarah Gouveia (East Greenwich, R.I.) has been named the GoHolyCross.com Crusader of the Week, for competition from August 27-September 2. Gouveia led the Holy Cross women's soccer team to a 3-0 victory over Albany in its 2007 season opener on Sunday, September 2.

During the win over Albany, Gouveia scored the game-winning goal when she chipped the ball over the goalkeeper from 25 yards out just 4:51 into the game. The goal was the first of Gouveia's collegiate career, after she recorded two assists during her freshman campaign.

The Crusaders (1-0 overall) return to action on Wednesday, September 5, when they travel to New Hampshire for a 7:00 p.m. game.
