Holy Cross Softball Defeated By Seton Hall, 11-4

Washington, D.C. - The Crusaders softball team traveled to Washington D.C. to compete against Seton Hall in this afternoon's non-conference game. Holy Cross was defeated 11-4, dropping to 2-10 while Seton Hall improves to 8-9.

The Crusaders scored their first run in the fourth inning when senior Kelly O'Neil (White Planes N.Y.) hit a home run to center field making the score 8-1 as Seton Hall scored five runs in the second inning and three in the fourth.

Coming across the plate in the fifth inning was freshman Erin Fleming (Townsend, Mass), sophomore Amanda Audette (New Bedford, Mass.) and O'Neil with her second run of the night making the score 9-4 as Seton Hall scored one run in the fifth.

Seton Hall scored two more runs in the seventh inning to finish the game 11-4.

On the mound for the Crusaders was freshman Caitlin Belanger (Fall River, Mass.) for 1.2 innings giving up five runs, sophomore Julie Girard (Montague, Mass.), for two innings, recording two strikeouts and giving up three runs and freshman Katie Alexander (Tigard, Ore.) giving up three runs.

The Crusaders play again March 16th against Georgetown at 10:00 am.
