Game 1 Box Score
Game 2 Box Score

LEWISBURG, Pa. - The Holy Cross softball team finished its weekend's series against Bucknell on Sunday afternoon, falling in game one, 8-0, and in game two, 5-3. With the loss, the Crusaders fall to 8-29 overall (3-13 Patriot League) while Bucknell improves to 22-27 overall (13-7 Patriot League).

In game one, Bucknell scored a run in both the first and second innings to take a 2-0 lead over the Crusaders. No runs were scored again until the sixth inning when Bucknell pushed six more runs across the plate to win the game. The Crusaders had two hits and one error, while Bucknell had eight runs, 12 hits and no errors.

Taking the loss for the Crusaders was Amanda Audette (New Bedford, Mass.) despite allowing just one earned run on five hits in four innings of work.

In game two, Bucknell scored once in the first inning, then added two runs in both the second and the fourth to take a 5-0 lead.

The Crusaders fought back, scoring two runs in the fifth inning when Tiffany Medwid (Imperial, Pa.) hit a single up the middle bringing home Courtney Nealon (Rochester, N.Y.) and Mandy Correale (Peabody, Mass.). In the sixth inning the Crusaders scored again when Caitlin Belanger (Fall River, Mass.) hit a single to center field to drive in Keeley Seniuk (Phoenix, Ariz.). But that was as close as Holy Cross would get, as the Bison held on for the win. The Crusaders had three runs, seven hits and one error, while Bucknell had five runs, nine hits and no errors.

Natalie Cruz (Manalapan, N.J.) suffered the loss in game two, allowing three earned runs on four hits in three innings. Belanger pitched well in relief, giving up just one run on five hits in three innings.

The Crusaders return to action when they travel to Colgate on Wednesday, April 30, for a doubleheader. Start time is set for 3:30 p.m.
