Also swam for her high school, Our Lady of Peace, as a four-year varsity letter winner ... Named Rookie-of-the-Year in 2002 and MVP in 2002 ... Team won League Championships in 2003, 2004, and 2005 ... Held several records for OLP, all of which have been broken by her two younger sisters.

2005-2006: Compete in every meet of the season participating in the distance freestyle, IM and breastroke events...Top-16 Qualifier at Patriot League Championships.

2006-2007: Compete in every meet of the season participating in the distance freestyle, IM and breastroke events.

2007-2008: Compete in every meet of the season participating in the distance freestyle, IM and breastroke events...named to the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

Personal: Majoring in English with a concentration in Creative Writing...member of the Writer's Workshop...daughter of Jose and Rita Alanis ... Father is a physician & mother is an office manager ... Father played football in college at Universidad Autonoma Nacional de Mexico... Has two sisters: Valerie is a freshman swimmer at Kenyon, and Herendira is a nationally-ranked club swimmer, hoping to make it to London 2012!
