WORCESTER, Mass. - Freshman Rachael Martinez (Chelmsford, Mass.) has been named the Holiday Inn Express Crusader of the Week, for competition from January 22-28. Last week, Martinez won a pair of events, while helping the Holy Cross women's swimming and diving team to a first place finish at the Worcester City Championship.

During last weekend's meet, held on Friday and Saturday at the Hart Center, Martinez placed first in the one-meter diving with a score of 228.75 and the three-meter diving with a score of 236.17. Following the conclusion of the Worcester City Championship, she received the Beth Ferraro Award as the women's diver of the meet.

The Crusaders return to action on Saturday, Feb. 3, when they play host to Fairfield at 1:00 p.m., in the final home meet of the 2006-2007 season.
