Women's Tennis Defeats Bentley, 5-2

Worcester, Mass. - With another win on the young season, the Holy Cross women's tennis team improved to 2-1. The Crusaders defeated Bentley College 5-2 by winning four singles matches and taking the doubles point with wins in two of three matches. Meg Moran (Concord, N.H.) won the toughest match of the day with a three set victory. Carrie Simmons (Raynham, Mass.), Amy Garrity (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), and Katie Guarino (Reading, Mass.) all took their singles match in straight sets over the Falcon women. In doubles, the team of Simmons and Kerry Trimmer (Spring Lake, N.J.) got another victory at the one spot while Moran and Meredith Bacon (Hanover, N.H.) took their match. The Crusader women will host their next match Tuesday, Sept. 27 against Babson College. Results Singles: Julia Khomitch (Bentley) def. Kerry Trimmer (Holy Cross) 3-6, 6-4, (7-10)
