TRACK AND FIELD TRAVELS TO CROWELL OPEN

West Point, N.Y. - The men's and women's track and field team traveled to West Point, N.Y. this weekend to compete in the Crowell Open track meet. Five Crusaders finished out the day with fifth place finishes and higher. For the women junior Elizabeth Alizzi (Syosset, N.Y.) took fourth place n the 5000m race with a time of 19:39.52. In the field events sophomore Rachel Amaral (Raynham, Mass.) finished in third for the weight with a throw of 48-06.25 feet. For the men junior Jonathan Medeiros (New Bedford, Mass.) took a fifth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 46 feet. Junior Sebastian Fidelus (Jersey City, N.J.) finished second in the 1000m race with a time of 2:33.60. Also finishing second was sophomore Timothy Richard (Attleboro, Mass.) in the 3000m race with at time of 9:00.67. The Crusaders will compete again Saturday, January 19th in New Hampshire. |
