Men And Women Track And Field Teams Compete At Indoor Patiort League Championships.

Lewisburg, Pa. - The men's and women's track and field team traveled to Lewisburg, Pa. this past weekend to compete in the 2008 Patriot League Championships hosted by Bucknell. For the men Navy took first place and Holy Cross finished fifth with five poinst. For the women, Bucknell took first place while Holy Cross finished sixth with 46 points. Holy Cross placed 20 women in the top ten and 10 men. Leading the women was sophomore Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) and for the men senior Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.).

Ricotta was the highest finisher for the men's team with a fourth place finish in the 400-meter race with a time of 49.79. Next best finish was senior John Meikle (Newport, R.I.) with a seventh place finish in the pole vault with a height of 14-03.25.

For the women Pruszko led the way with a second place finish in the women's pentathlon with 3,431 points and a fourth place finish in the 500-meter with a time of 1:17.53. Other top three finishers were sophomore Tiffany Reid (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) with a third place finish in the 200-meter with a time of 25.71 and a fifth place finish in the 60-meter with a time of 8.00. Junior Danielle Meder (Chicopee, Mass.) finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 9.03 and junior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) finished third in the pole vault with a height of 11-03.75.

The women's 4x400 relay team also had a third place finish with a time of 3:58.36. Apart of this team were freshman Cassandra Anderson (Saugus, Mass.), junior Sophia Grammenos (Gardner, Mass.), junior Lauren Tallon (Lake Forest, Ill.) and Pruszko.

Next up for the Crusaders is New England which will take part March 8-10 in Durham, N.H. Start times will be announced.
