Results

Boston, Mass. - The men's and women's track team sent a handful of its athletes to the New England Championship meet to compete this past weekend. The men's team tallied eight points for a 19th place finish while the women tallied 26 points for a ninth place finish.

Leading the men in points was senior Michael Ricotta (Cross River, N.Y.) with a fourth place finish in the 400-meter at a time of 48.27 points. Picking up the rest of the men's points was senior Thomas Harrison (Wilmington, N.C.) in the triple jump with a sixth place finish at a distance of 45-09.75.

For the women top finisher was sophomore Olivia Pruszko (Monroe, Conn.) with a third place finish in the 500-meter at a time of 1:15.03. In the 200-meter race sophomore Tiffany Reid (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished in fourth setting a new school record with a time of 25.04 and also qualifying for ECAC. Reid broke another school record set in 1990 in the 55-meter with a new record time of 7.40. Taking fourth in the pole vault was junior Lesley Bautista (St. John's, Newfoundland) with a height of 11-09.75.

The women's 4x800 relay team took a third place finish with a time of 9:18.97 which is an ECAC qualifying mark. Apart of this team is junior Alexandra Swiatocha (Mahopac, N.Y.), sophomore Maureen Meagher (Allentown, Pa.), junior Katie Clay (Beverly, Mass.) and freshman Courtney Burgess.

Crusaders compete again March 8, for the ECAC meet hosted in Boston, Mass. Start time is set for 9:00 am.
